Structuring of my film

 

Section 1: Showcase my main character (Mike Harper) being briefed on the task at hand, he’s got to breach a building and extract the codes which are of high value to the government. Mikes backstory is an intelligent unique character with a unique set of skills which I want to showcase during this brief to explain why he has been chosen.

 

Section 2: He has to make his way through one of the deadliest woods known to man. While trying to survive the harsh woods he will have (dog 2882) which is for support. In which I want to show him building a bond throughout the film with the dog. It is going to be a 1 day trek to get to the building which is going to be an abandoned building (this may be tweaked due to covid and being able to get to places to film the scenes.)

 

Section 3: Finishes reloading gun/ gearing up then goes to the helicopter Deployment, UAV style shots of Mike going down a rope into the woods entrance.

 

Section 4: I want mike to be grappling down the rope and as he is getting off get his gun out and to be looking around while crouched at his surroundings observing the area, also dog 2882 will be brought down via a dog cage of sorts and she will be released into the wild to go and observe mikes surroundings to really show the observing status before entering the woods.

 

Section 5: There will be a bunch of signs on the trees saying, “Missing persons”, “Turn around” and “you have been warned” etc. as signs to show there’s real dangers that lie ahead. I also want to show a piece of invisible flesh to the dog from one of the enemy’s (I plan to just hold a green object that is in the shape of some flesh from a body) that way I can make it invisible in post to show its not actually there but have a slight outline so you can tell.

 

Section 6: Dog 2882 finds a “dead body” from the flesh and sits there while waiting for mike, when mike starts looking at the body then all of a sudden, he gets shot in the leg buy the enemy 1, enemy 1 is led down invisible with his clothes on. He raises his arm slightly and shoots mike in the leg. Then Mike reaches for his pistol and shoots 5 rounds into enemy 1 which kills him but while falling back mike falls down a hill and ends up in a stream unconscious.

 

Section 7: He awakes with dog 2882 licking him he looks down and sees a huge bullet wound down and shows extreme pain. He gets out his meds to try and heal the wound as best as he can. (Maybe (While doing so takes of his helmet so mike can show his true pain through facial expressions)) He manages to now stand with a sort of limp but eventually heals quickly due to the new advanced medication there is. He then walks back up to the dead body and finds co-ordinates for their base. He then uses his GPS to make his way to their base of operations.

 

Section 8: On the way there he encounters a patrol of 3 people (enemy 2, enemy 3 and enemy 4) and quickly executes the 3 with his supressed weapon and moves on towards the base. I want to show several shots of him getting there in between both getting to the patrol and then from the patrol to the base. Trying to show that everything is going so well and that he is progressing very well. He then arrives at the base.

 

Section 9: While at the base it’s very empty and no one is in sight. It’s a very empty atmosphere with hardly any sound other than mikes own footsteps and breathing. As he makes his way through the base he eventually breaches the last door and finds a dead body with the codes pinned to the body. He rips them off the dead body and places them back in the briefcase. While packing up the codes he hears dog 2882 barking. Then shots are heard along with the squeals of dog 2882.

 

Section 10/11: Mike comes to a standstill as he appears stressed and traumatised. But he then snaps out of it and runs for his life as the sirens are now on and then the chase begins as he is exiting the building, he then radios in to say he needs immediate exfil. As he’s running through the woods he’s then able to take cover and look back to see there are several enemy’s coming towards him.

 

Section 12: He fires rounds back at them and manages to kill 2 of them as they drop to the ground. He then realises he has to move to the exifil he sees the flares / red smoke in the distance which is at a tower. Whilst shots are now being fired back at him, he’s still as fast as he can towards the exfil. He then makes it to the smoke and the Heli rope drops downs as its waiting for him shots are still being fired but he manages to rope up and get out with the codes.
