Sound Design

Sound design pt 2.JPG

The sound design is nothing crazy, However at the start I put a lot of effort into making it sound as real as it could be, for example if I was able to do the whole film then I would have been able to have a more diverse sound design to show. As the start of the trailer is how I would have done the whole film. Above you can see 5 different audio tracks, each track containing an audio sample this can be a sound effect all the way to the background atmosphere.

Audio Track 1 : Is a news broadcast, I found this broadcast while looking for military voiceovers this then came up and sounded perfect for what scene I was trying to set.

Audio Track 2 : Is a Room Tone Hum, which is a static noise, It was a sound effect recorded from an empty room that's fairly open you can listen to it below to have a better understanding of what I'm talking about.

Audio Track 3 : Is a police radio sound effect, When trying to re-create a interrogation room it's not just something you have to create visually but also through sound, at the end of the day the goal is to recreate a room. This means you need to think of all the sounds that are going on in that room, yes there's a voice over explaining what's going on however there's also radio chatter going on in the background.

Audio Track 4 : Radio static, this was placed in to show that they were almost changing channels to change to the frequency the voice over is on. It just added to the eeriness and made it feel more realistic.

Audio Track 5 : Loading and chambering gun, this was another part which really sold the overall experience, it fitted perfectly with how I was reloading the guns within the video.

You can also see that I placed some effects on the effects, these were a "constant power" effect. This basically made them fade in and out so there wasn't an instant cut off for any of the audio, It basically just made the audio tracks blend nicely.

The rest of the sound design is nothing special at the start for my logo revel I placed a few cinematic "thuds" which made for a dramatic entrance, and then after the gearing up scene it led to the song which was called friction by imagine dragons.
